Colors

Nov 30, 2022

I ran an update this morning for Storyline 360 and nothing seems to be working correctly. I can't get the drop down box for format/shape fill nor format/outline or text colors. All of my theme colors disappeared at well. Very frustrating since I'm just about at the end of my project, but need to change some colors. Is anyone else having this issue?

Here's Articulate's info about the new Color Selector:

I haven't had any problems opening the Color Selector.

For example, I could open it from the Color drop down in the Format Shape window...

...and from Shape Fill in the ribbon. Well, I did have to click the drop-down arrow. It doesn't open when the "Shape Fill" label is clicked (though clicking that will recolor a selected shape with the most recently selected color, as it did before the update).

Where it says "Theme Colors" (highlighted by a red box in the above image), there's a drop-down that let's you access other color themes/sets, including previously saved custom colors.

Where it says "Hex" is another drop down for switching to enter RGB or HSL values if you want to enter colors that way.

What I like most about this new window is that it allows for adding and editing color sets. So, for example, one could have a set of custom colors (beyond the theme colors) for different clients or projects.

BTW, clicking the icon in the upper right disengages the Color Selector, so it becomes a free-floating window. I don't know why that's not an option when the Color Selector is opened within the Format Shape window.

If you truly can't get it to appear at all, I suggest you contact the Articulate support staff (https://articulate.com/support/contact/360-teams ). Otherwise, just play around with it to see how it works.

If the color picker isn't working the way Judy indicated, contact the support team and they can help you.

The modal mode when it's separated is so you can move the picker around in case it's sitting on top of an object you're trying to pick. But it's not designed to be a floating window that's always open. It's only open for that instance of picking thus all of the other features are disabled (such as clicking somewhere else on the ribbon).

Hi, I just noticed that when adding gradients to a shape, the customized colors or theme colors can only be applied on step 1, even if step 2 or 3 are selected.

The only way this works is by moving the colorselector to an approximate spot, but then it will not be possible to find the correct corporate color.

I will also report this to Support.

Best regards,

Iris
