Combining Quizzes from Multiple SL files

Help!

We are finishing a large project for a client, who has requested a "master test" for our 4 units (6-9 courses per unit).  This involves copying 2-6 questions per course into 4 large tests.  All courses were created in Storyline 2.

I have been the front end designer up until this point, and we just lost our back end programmer, so I'm jumping into this with a lot of experience on design/animation/etc, and very little on variables.  Our courses never used Question Banks.  I have tried importing the question slides, but the variables get renamed, and the results page doesn't reflect all of the questions accurately.  Our template is highly customized for this client, we have custom buttons for submitting, navigation, reviewing the course, etc.

I have been combing the forums, but most of what I see involves importing from a Question Bank, which we did not use.

Can someone point me to a discussion thread/tutorial that might help?  It seems like this shouldn't be hard to do, but as I said, I'm a total noob when it comes to this part of Storyline.

I am fine with either having a results page after each quiz, and then a final results page for the total, or just having one results page total.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Elizabeth,

we don´t work with question banks either. Maybe you have to look into your result slide settings and select the imported slides so they count too if they are not already selected. Variables being renamed is nothing to worry about, as long as they are still working I guess. I use the note section to write directly in storyline which variables are used in which slide so I got an overview when importing them to an other project.

If you work with more than one result slide, you have to combine them in a final result slide (adding all results) and choose this result slide when publishing, or else you don´t get all points of the different quizzes.

Susi, thanks for the advice.

After a lot of time combing the forums, I saw that it wasn't totally unusual to have errors when importing slides, so I went through and looked at all of the triggers/variables with the new slides - and found a lot of weird glitches.  After fixing those, it seems to be working now.  It's a little early to say "problem solved" since I just found this late last night, so I may come running back in tears in a few hours (lol), but for now, I think I'm set!
