Conditional Seekbar does not work in Mobile player (responsive).

Jul 06, 2020

I have courses where the users need to strictly follow the progress without jumping forward. However, they can do scrubbing/dragging back and forth after the slide (timeline) is completed.

The conditional seekbar (in modern player) can be used to meet this requirement. However, it only works  in Desktop mode, but it doesn't work in the mobile (Tablet and phone) player.

I made a demo  here:

Any setting I missed or is this behaviour intended or is it a bug?

Cheers,
Jay

Hi Jay!

Thank you so much for catching this bug! I've tested your link on a desktop and iPhone 11, and unfortunately, they aren't behaving the same. However, I've had a colleague test this on their Android using Chrome and wasn't able to drag the seekbar until the timeline completed.

Would you mind sharing which mobile device you're using?

I've shared this bug with our team so that we begin investigating! It looks like this is a bug in our latest version of Storyline 360 Update 41 (Build 3.41.22450.0). Are you using this version as well?

I look forward to hearing more details from you, Jay! We'll make sure to provide our team with as much detail as possible.

Hi, yes I am using latest version 3.41.22450.0
I am testing it using Samsung Note8 with Chrome, I have also tested it using Firefox.
In Firefox the behaviour is a bit different (though possible to drag the seekbar, it is harder to ‘catch’ the head of the seekbar, but I can still do ‘jumps’ on the seekbar).

Great news, Jay!

Update 43 for Storyline 360 is ready: We fixed the issue where learners could drag the seekbar when it was supposed to be locked—either read-only or set to allow dragging after completion. Specifically, this happened on mobile devices.
