Conditions

I have a layer that will have 7 bullet points come in every 4 seconds on the timeline. Is it possible to make my Next button not function until the last bullet slides onto the layer? I do not want the user to be able to skip the slide by using the next button right away.

I have done this with buttons and variables on other layers, but I can not seem to get it to work with text boxes.

Hi John,

yes you can.

you'll have to add a condition to it although.

Create a variable and initialise it in the variable window

When your timeline of your slide start, initialise your variable to a certain value

When your timeline of your slide end, you set the variable to a certain value

Select the trigger of your next button (wrong image here)

 Click on the show conditions

Click on the green +

Add your condition (similar screen)

Hope it helps

I added a state to the last text box (identical to the 1st text box). I then placed a trigger to change the state of that text box when the timeline ends. I then placed a condition on the next button to wait until the last text box is set to the new state I created.

It works, even though it may not be the best way to go about it. I think it is easier than creating a variable, in this case.

Thanks for your input.
