Hi. How can I control the timleine of a base layer while slide layers are shown. Idea is to add a audio (text-to-speech) on the base layer. This audio should continue and then controlled with the pause/play button of the player, even while other slide layers are shown.
Attached you will find your sample with one of my slides added. Probably the behavior is different as I show immediately one of my layers instead the base layer. I will now try to modify my slide in the way, that the content of my layer 1 will come on the base layer.
btw.: the template for this is coming from my global branding team.. :-(
I finally found the problem. In the slide layer properties there was the option "Allow seeking" set to "Yes". I set this now to "Automatically decide" and now everything works as expected.
I am adding on to this, as I am having a similar challenge. I have used text-talk to convert my notes into audio, but as soon as the layer trigger (which is set on the audio) is reached, the layer appears, and the audio stops. I have tried with both Cue Points and time. I also downloaded the sample.story from Leslie, and do not see what I have set up differently. The problem is on the first slide of the second scene. Early Riding.

Hello Jochen and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out. This is certainly something that you should be able to easily set-up.
Take a look at my sample file attached.
If you're having difficulty with a project that you're working on, feel free to share your .story file and we can take a look.

Thank you for your demo project.

Hey Colleen,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your .story file so that we could take a look.
You were so close.
It was the base layer being hidden on your first slide layer, The First Bits, that caused the issue.
Unselecting that option:
As well as manually hiding the base layer items for that layer:
Allow your file to work as you mentioned above.
I've attached your updated file as well.
Thank you!! I just love the support you all provide.
So glad to be able to help you out :)
