Any update about this in SL3 ? I have a slide with 39 layers and 20 of them have 20 similar triggers, any creative way to no have to cut and past 380 triggers ? Copying to an object did not work and all the variables need to be reset each time which is not much less work then redoing all the triggers...
Lots of easier ways, depending on what you want to have at the end.
Import slide to new story. Everything comes intact. Select unneeded objects (If any), including unwanted layers and hit delete.
Copy Slide to new location. Everything comes intact. Select unneeded objects (If any), including unwanted layers and hit delete.
Copy layer and paste on new slide. Everything comes intact. Select unneeded objects (If any), and hit delete.
Copy layer. In Story view, select thumbnail and press CRTL-V. Layer and everything on it is copied to selected slide. Can be repeated multiple times without copying again.
General rule of thumb: It is much easier to copy and paste everything and delete the unwanted than nearly any other method of duplicating.
Wow ! You really have worked this ! I have already copied and paste but i will try this next time ! Impressive knowledge you have ! And yes i agree with the philosophy of copying and deleting, this is often the fastest in any program.
You can certainly paste your triggers to multiple objects, but the copying is still just one at a time. You can check out our documentation on triggers here.
You are welcome to share your thoughts and use-case with our team here if you'd like to see this handled differently.
Heads up for future work-flow method. Create one object and perfect the triggers. Then copy and paste the object. The triggers go with it, and then the object can be easily changed. With many and/or complicated triggers, it is much easier to change the shape or object than it is to change the triggers.
The way triggers are attached to objects, I'm not sure we'll ever see a working method of copying a bunch of triggers from here to there. All the containing objects, and all the mentioned objects have to be very nearly identical, or you have to do a bunchy of editing, which can also be problematic.

You can't paste a layer to multiple slides, but if you copy it, you can just single click a slide in the STORY VIEW and paste. It can go pretty fast.

Easier options welcomed :)

Hi all
Any update on this topic for storyline 3 ?
I'm precisely interested in copying several triggers attached to one object to asign them to more objects
Cheers !

Hi Leslie
Thanks for the answer
i'ts good to be able to paste one trigger onto several objects at a time.
It would also be great to be able to copy a bunch of triggers at once but apparently there's no way to do so yet
thanks
