Course with Pre-test and Post-test
May 22, 2018
We are trying to create a course that gives learners the option of testing out if they score 90% or above on a pre-test. If they don't test out, they have to go through the course and score 80% or above on a post-test.
What’s happening now is that when a learner passes the pre-test the LMS does not register that they have completed the course and does not list their score. I know that Storyline 2 can only recognize the result from a single test as the determining factor to mark a course complete or incomplete. To make it do otherwise we have hacked the completion message with triggers and JavaScripts, but our attempts don't seem to be working.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Has anyone done this successfully. Our client wants us to keep the pre-test inside the course and not break it out into a separate module in a curriculum.

Hi Peter
here is a sample from a really old client file where we did a pre-test (2 attempts) - fail - content - post test.
The pre and post test pulled from the same QB - 20 random questions pull of 10.
I've scrubbed the file and added highlights to the correct responses so you can do testing.
Hope this helps or gives you an idea how to do it.
If you are using SL 360, there is a new trigger that sends the LMS a completion notification from anywhere. Set you pre-test results slide to send the notification if the desired score is reached.
MIchael I think Peter is using SL2 which doesn't have that functionality.
