Creating a Demo - Screen Recording

Hello

I am currently updating an existing Storyline 2 project with a new demo of a system.

I have recorded the demo and inserted it into the correct scene.

I have selected the demo to be presented with Step by Step slides.

Some of the slides within the demo I do not want included, so I deleted them.

Now when I try to preview the screens, the slide wont move to the next and I get an error:

The slide target of this link is not available in this preview.

I tried to set Slide Triggers and Player Triggers, so that the slide would move to the next slide, however that didnt work.... :-(

Pls help!

Hi, Sandi -- Thanks for reaching out! May I ask if you are finding the same error message when you test your published output in the intended environment?

As described in this article, "If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published."

Hello Christie, thanks for your reply.

No, I haven't tried to publish it, I have only tried to preview the slide.

Is the error message that I have reported relate to a secuirty restriction?

Have I followed the correct process to create a screen recording?

I'm not sure whether or not I can delete slides....

Hi, Sandi -- Thanks so much for your reply and perhaps if you publish your file and upload it to the environment where it will ultimately be accessed or "live", you may find that you are no longer receiving the error message. As noted in the link I shared, sometimes elements will not function properly if viewed locally or outside of the intended environment due to a variety of factors listed above.

I would be happy to take a closer look if you are able to upload your file, or if privacy is a concern, you are welcome to share using this form. :)

Thanks for your reply. I have sent you the file using the form.

I did read the article, however alot of it doesnt make sense to me. I'm only just started using storyline, and trying to get my head around it all :-)
