CSOD-Mobile: Audio from MP3 clips will not play in SCORM content

Aug 11, 2015

Recently published a Storyline2 course with lots of interactions, tutorials and try-it scenarios. Our course includes a narrator (audio recording), who guides the user through. Each slide includes MP3 audio, and some slides include MP4 videos, built in a different program and inserted from file.

We uploaded the course to CSOD, and checked off all the appropriate check-boxes to make the course available to mobile. We then launched the course in the Cornerstone Mobile app. Here's the problem:

Audio from the MP3 clips will not play. Otherwise, all slides are working fine with animations and timeline progressing perfectly. When we get to slides that include MP4 videos, we can hear all audio from the videos.

Has anyone run across these issues before? I'm worried that I will be stuck between SL and CSOD on this one.

Hi Daniel! Hopefully someone in the community that has experience with this will be able to chime in and assist here.

We would not be able to support viewing in your CSOD mobile app as you can see here in our system requirements.

You are welcome to test the content in SCORM Cloud to see if it's the actual audio files or the app that is the culprit though.

Although Articulate Storyline and Articulate Studio '13 support a wide range of audio file formats (AAC, AIF, AIFF, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA), not all codecs and bitrates are supported. If you encounter either of the issues described above, we recommend converting your audio files to 16 bit 44 KHZ PCM WAV for best results.
