Different groups of Tick Boxes?
Oct 07, 2014
I have slide that requires 3 groups of 3 tick boxes.
The user can only tick 1 box in a group of 3. If they tick a different box of the same group, then the other box that has been ticked goes blank. One one box can be ticked in the group.
I require three groups. The answer will be submitted as correct when the user has chosen the correct tick box from each group.
Apart from having to probably create dozens of triggers, is there a simple way to achieve this ?

Hi Darren
it's very easy to do with the button sets. And you need only two triggers for the submit button to show correct/incorrect feedback.
Have a look at the attached example. I hope it helps
Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I took a look and works fine. I do not see though how you set up the different sets?
In the meantime, I created this option in Storyline 2:
Figured it, a "hidden" easter egg called Button Sets..... Would have saved me loads of time. Thanks again.
HI
you've set up your slide as a pick many interaction with a lot of triggers, which obviously work, but it was sure more time consuming to trigger all conditions (and this is what you wanted to avoid).
Button sets are very handy. To create one, add as many check boxes as you want, then select them, and right click on the selection, choose Button set and that's it Only one check box in the group will be selectable at the same time. And the good news is that you can have as many button sets as you want on the same slide. Good luck with your project :)
If you only want one checkbox to be selected then really you should use radio buttons as this would be expected behaviour
Radio buttons single select, checkboxes multi select
Hi Darren,
I also just wanted to point out the tutorial on using button sets.
Hope that helps,
