It seems simple, but I can't figure it out. I have a results slide. The reset button works. However if the user fails, I need to force him to retake the quiz. But the Next button continues to work for failed test users. How can I disable the Next button (or make them reset and retake the test) when they click Next.
I always place the Retake Quiz button on the fail layer and set a trigger to disable the next button when the timeline starts on the fail layer - would that work for you?
Hi Erin - I don't know if there's a better way to do this, but I usually just use Triggers. I make one trigger to change the state of the Next button to Hidden when the timeline starts. Then I make one to change the state of the Next button to Normal when the timeline starts if the score is greater than or equal to the passing score. Hope this works!
Hi,
I put a condition on the next button to work only if the user passes at 100; I'm testing it now.
But if you could send a screen shot for the variables, that would help.
I do place the Retake button on the fail layer. So I set a trigger on the fail layer only to disable the next button when the timeline starts on the fail layer? Ah ha! I think I get it. Let me give it a try...
A new problem. If I fail the test and retake the test, and get a passing score with a second try, I am unable to click next (next is disabled). I will take another look at your story file.
If you can’t get it working try adding a trigger to the retake button (after the reset results trigger) to change next button to normal when user clicks. I’m out of my office at the moment so can’t test it.

Understood. Thank you.
Aha! I just tested it, and it works great. Thank you so much!
Hmm. Well, now the Next button is disabled for passing users. ?
Yep that looks correct.
So only if the user hits the fail layer will the Retake button display the next button be disabled
Here is a rough sample
Here is a Peek video of it working in my sample file
Got it. Thank you!
Glad you got it working Erin - good luck with your project :-)

Awesome. Simple and yet highly effective. Thanks for sharing.
