Disabling Next button

Apr 22, 2013

I have viewed this video:http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=cchsaumqs2v6 numerous times. I cannot find anything wrong in my code. Why won't the next button stay disabled until all the buttons are visited?

Here is a link to the file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8v-MoJHMYBqR1lpVDdFM1loRm8/edit?usp=sharing

The slide I am working on is Slide 2.1; Fatigue Refresher Training.

When you preview it, after clicking a button, just click the menu item of the same name to return to the slide.

Please tell me what I have done wrong.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for the link. It's a fairly large course, so before I begin testing this I wanted to make a quick observation that may help with the issue. I noticed that the revisiting settings for the slide "2.1" are set to "Automatically Decide". When you're testing this slide, do the states stay "Visited" or are they resetting? If they're resetting, try changing the revisiting option to "Resume saved state".

Can you try that out and see if it helps?

Thanks!

Christine

Hi Laura,

Select the slide in Story View. In the bottom right-hand pane you'll see a "Slide Properties" pane. There will be an option for "When revisiting". Change that option to "Resume saved state".

I'm a little confused on how you want this to work, though. I noticed that the slide you mentioned is not the starting slide. It looks like you're having users branch out from the slide to other sections, but I haven't made it far enough in the course to see when the learners would return to that slide to mark the states as "Visited".

Can you give a little more information on how you'd like this slide to function? With the way the course is setup right now, it's difficult to test the "Next" button.

Thanks!

Christine
