This is not an issue of storyline it happens when we select the state of our object but click in empty area of the screen instead of our graphic or objects whose state we have to edit and I think the same problem you are facing here. You select the state of your object but on the screen u haven't select any graphic or perhaps clicked on the empty space (it happens by mistake might be).
Thanks, very helpful! The image is a .png file so it has a lot of transparency. When I made sure I selected one of the points or lines on the image, the formatting tab was active.
I am still having the problem, even when I carefully select on lines on the image. The format tab was unavailable.
In fact, I think the problem comes from the fact I used the change picture option to swap in different images. When I pasted these images directly from file, rather than using the change picture option, the problem disappears.
