Hi Chris and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! I think that's a personal preference and maybe some community members can share some insight on what they may utilize it for.
Currently the '09 versions of Quizmaker and Engage can be imported into Storyline, but our '13 versions cannot at this time.
It depends on your style as well. I like to get in and build my own so I don't think I've used Quizmaker at all since I started using Storyline. I don't know if there is anything in Quizmaker you couldn't recreate in Storyline. If you are still building a lot of things in PowerPoint you'll need Quizmaker.
For me - the reality is that a considerable % of commerce still uses PowerPoint as their basis for operation.
For those people, who have invested time and effort in design, animation etc. then Studio '13 allows them to take those and with relatively little effort produce something that works for them.
Like it as we might, Triggers, Conditions, States and Variables are not yet the mainstay of corporate eLearning
There is also another case for it which I have seen developing lately.
In the 70:20:10 scenario, the 10% represents the eLearning built by IDs (in Storyline), and the 20% represents the "peer-to-peer". I am working with two very large/Global organisations where that 20% is being done using Studio '13. It easily allows SMEs to produce content with some minimal guidelines and quality standards, outside of the corporate eLearning function, but under it's watchful eye.
I had not seen this one coming, however, I think that having watched for the last couple of financial quarters that this makes Articulate perfectly placed to grow and develop corporate mindshare with the two offerings.

that is a tough question to answer without knowing your needs, types of projects, design goals, etc.
for my organization, we have studio and storyline. depending on the requirements of the project, we will use a particular program.

Just the kind of feedback I was hoping Chris would get...thanks guys
Thanks for the feedback!
Like Brett, I prefer to build my own activities/quizzes etc.. It's good to hear that it can all be done in Storyline.

Hope that all makes sense.
Glad this was helpful Chris!
Thanks Bruce for your contribution as well
