Drag and drop activity creating issues in LMS

Nov 21, 2019

We have two courses that contain drag and drop activities created in Storyline 360 that have been creating problems for learners within the LMS we are using to host them.

Within the LMS, each course is set up so that the learner completes a pre-assessment (created in the LMS), a module created in Storyline 360, and then a post-assessment (created in the LMS). The problem we are running into is that  if a learner gets the drag and drop activity wrong after the set number of tries, it will not mark the Storyline module as complete and as a result will not let the user continue on to the post-assessment. Instead, we have had to manually go into the LMS to move people who have gotten it wrong on to the post assessment.

We have the SCORM files set up so that the learners only have to view all of the slides as the requirement for completing the course, so I'm not sure why this has become an issue. I was assuming the issue was some sort of setting in the SCORM file itself, but this was not a problem in the previous LMS we were using.

If anyone has any guidance to whether this sounds like an LMS issue or a Storyline issue, any suggestions or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kelsey!

Have you done any testing in SCORM Cloud yet?  If so, do you notice that the Storyline content isn't marked complete after attempting the drag-and-drop activity too many times? We generally compare the behavior in SCORM Cloud to your LMS experience to try to parse out file issues versus LMS issues.

We are happy to help you with that testing if you'd like to share your file! We'll delete it when we're done troubleshooting.
