Drag and Drop interaction snapping issue since upgrading to 2.7

Feb 10, 2016

We had had some issues with javascript executing in 2.5 and on that a coworker had opened a ticket for last year, as such, we were still running 2.4 until recently and I built a course in 2.4 with a basic drag and drop slide.

On that slide, I set the drag and drop snapping to tile and it worked just fine. When we switched to 2.7 this week, we were reviewing changes to the course and it was pointed out that it wasn't snapping anymore. I checked the settings and changed them and tried again and it still didn't snap at all.

On digging around here in the forums, I found a similar issue on this thread from last month: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/drag-and-stack-grouping-questions-not-working-anymore-has-the-upgrade-brought-new-issues#reply-333072

I have pared down the course to just that slide and am attaching that here. Any help would be great.

Hi John!

I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your file for us to take a look at. I do see the behavior you are reporting and it seems a tad different than what we have reported as an issue.

I have opened a support ticket on your behalf so that our support team can take a better look and you should be hearing from someone soon.

We are working on it. I responded this morning that I did test creating a new project and building a basic drag and drop interaction and that the snapping did work on that.

The next step that I am going to try is to build a new slide in the existing project from the ground up and see if that works as well as trying to import the new project slide into the existing project to see if that works.

I'd rather not rebuild the whole project if I can help it.

Leslie- I just responded to him with this:

"Both creating a new slide and rebuilding the interaction from scratch as well as building a new interaction in a new project and copying it into the old project worked fine.

I can confirm that my first attempt at building it on a new slide and then copying the objects from the previous slide caused the issue to happen again, so it seemed to be related to those specific objects being used in the interaction."

As a work around it was fine once I knew that I had to rebuild it from scratch and not reuse any of the shapes or objects I had used before. Since I was just using squares and text, that was fine, but if it had been a visual drag and drop, it might not have been worked around as easily.
