Drag and Drop - Show Layer issue
Dec 13, 2016
I have a slide where they drag and drop six icons to their matching icon. (One of the icons is in color and they drag it to the black and white icon.) After they drag the icon a layer pops up to give them more information.
The slide is being finicky. The first icon you drag won't show the information layer. It doesn't matter which icon you select first, but it will not show up. Has anyone else had this problem?
This problem happens 2/3 of the time on this slide. Not every time.

Hi Kaylie
it might be easier for someone to help you if they can play around with your setup - are you able to upload your .story file?
I am having this same problem. Jeffry Riley replied and mentioned it may be the browser I am using but I am not even at this stage yet. Please see attached Slide 1 and 1.5. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me.
Hi there Sherry, thanks for allowing me to take a look at your file. I'm seeing the same thing you're seeing--it appears that the drag item gets "stuck" on the mouse, and you have to click twice to drop it on the target.
I'm going to share this with our Support Engineers to look into this further. They'll reach out to you via email as soon as they have more information for you!
Just got this note BUT for Storyline 3 the problem is not fixed. FYI
Good news! We rolled out a number of bug fixes and new features in Studio 360 as detailed in the release notes here:
https://articulate.com/support/article/Articulate-Studio-360-Version-History
it includes the fix for drag and drop interaction that is not working.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks for the update, Sherry. We're still looking into this issue for Storyline 3, and we'll post an update here in this thread as soon as a fix is released!
Hi Sherry,
I'm excited to note that we just released update 3 for Storyline 3! You can view all the new features and fixes here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where a drag item would not always drop on a target in HTML5 output unless you clicked the mouse to release it.
Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let us know if you have any questions!
