Drag and Drop with Motion Path

Sep 20, 2018

I created a drag and drop for a form, but the form is too large for my slide.  I added a left and right arrow at the bottom of the screen and added a motion path that would move the  form left or right based off of what arrow you have clicked.

Next, i created a text box with multiple states. I also added a motion path to the text box but it was only allowed to move if it was dropped in a drop box and if the state was not normal.  I did the same setup with a smiley face  shape. When i drop the text box in drop zone and then tell the form to shift left or right the text box moves out side of the box it was dropped in. The smiley face works as expected and stays in the drop zone.

Below I have an attachment that removed all the confidential stuff (form and information), but it gets the point across. If you drop the text in one of the green boxes and then smiley face in a different boxes and then click the arrow you will see the text move out of the box but the smiley face stay in the box.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for reaching out.

The difference being the smiley face has a Drop state that is remaining with the slide.

Looks like your text box does not have a built-in drop state, but is changing to the state and position that you've defined in the states.

I would adjust the states of the text box to be in the correct location and see if that works better for you.

I'd love to hear from others in the community how they've accomplished similar with such a large, scrolling form.
