"Drag up for fullscreen" control problem on IOS mobile

Mar 16, 2018

Has anyone seen this?  See attached screenshot (from Safari on IOS)

This control appears when the top of the screen is tapped.  It causes the browser  menu and top window chrome to display.  The control can be dragged up to 'push' the top browser chrome vertically off screen and allow the course content to go fullscreen. Problem is that once it appears, it never leaves, so it blocks some of the course content.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with it and any advice on  how to get rid of it?

It also appears when using firefox on IOS so its not just a safari thing, but in firefox its very buggy and doesn't function at all...just blocks the screen.

So, is it a storyline HTML5 player function?  A buggy browser function?  or something else?

Appreciate any advice

Regards

Hi Gwenaelle,

Thanks for coming back to give us an update. I'm happy to hear the "Drag up for fullscreen" icon isn't giving you any more trouble, but it sounds like you're running into a different issue now!

Can you share a screenshot of the nav bars you're seeing? If you can also share a link to your course through this form, we can test it on our mobile devices.

Hi Geordie,

I do not have an update to provide at this time regarding the hand icon used to drag up for the full screen not working as intended. We are tracking this issue, and this conversation is linked so that we can update you when we can.

You mention another issue with your resources, and I'm not sure I've seen that one. Would you be able to share a screen recording or your .story file so that we can take a look at that?

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to report that we released Update 22 to Storyline 360 today, which includes:

Fixed: The "drag up for fullscreen" hint wouldn't disappear on iPhones when all the player features were turned off in Storyline.

You can check out all the details on the latest release right here.

Hey, folks!

We just released update 6 for Storyline 3 – check out all the goodies here! 🎁

One of the fixes addresses the issue Leslie mentioned above: Where the hand icon used for the content to go fullscreen in iOS mobile devices would not disappear after dragging it up when all the player features were disabled.

Here's how you can update Storyline 3 to see everything this update has to offer. Let us know what you think!

I have this exact same problem, so I'm glad I found this thread.  I too have a custom player that was borderless so my Storyline block blended in better with my Rise course, and I cannot get rid of the "drag up for full screen" icon on my desktop computer.  I will try to enable the player navigation as a workaround to see if that solves my problem for now.

As I shared above, we corrected this in Update 22.
