Duplicating slide master while importing

May 04, 2017

Hi,

I'm using 360.  While importing a storyline scene (let's call it file B) into file A, slide master from file B has strangely replicated into file A.

File B = 1 scene (6 slides) using one slide master with a few layouts.

Once imported into file A, 6 new slide masters looking pretty much the same have been created.  Each slide has created it's own slide master.

That's high maintenance :-( It will turn out into a mess very quickly.

Any idea, what's going on ?

Many thanks

Tina Marie

Hi Tina,

I just responded via your case, but I also wanted to share my response here for anyone else who experiences this issue in the future.

I can see that your file has 9 different slide masters, each with 11 layouts. It also looks like you used templates from the Content Library (Tectonic and Vision), is that correct?

We're working through an issue where Content Library templates appear as individual Slide Masters with layouts when inserted into a Storyline 360 file, and that seems to match what's going on in your file.

I really appreciate you letting us know what's going on, and I'm sorry this has been causing you headaches. As soon as we have more information on a fix, I'll be sure to post an update here in this thread. You'll be notified immediately since you're subscribed.

Hello Alyssa!

The bug apears also without using the contentlibrary!

We are not able to import existing projects to other projects without that issue. Unfortunately because of the count of the masterslides after importing storyline crashs.

Oh no, I'm sorry this is happening! That's definitely not what we would expect. Thanks for opening a case and linking the related discussion. I see you're working with Eloisa to get this sorted out--you're in good hands there.

Can you take a look at the response I posted in the other discussion? We can keep the conversation going over there!

Hi all,

Great news!   We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.

The item you'll be interested in is how each slide that was imported from Content Library would have its own separate slide master in Storyline. Now all slides from the same Content Library template belong to a single slide master in Storyline.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

Hi all,

Great news!  We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.

The item(s) you may be interested in are the fixes for:

  • Sometimes, variables would be missing when importing one Storyline project into another.
  • Each slide that was imported from another Storyline project had its own separate slide master. Now all slides from the same imported project belong to a single slide master.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
