Edit Video Freezes Storyline 2

Jun 26, 2015

I am able to record my screen to put videos in my file.  This morning, I was able to use the "Edit Video" option on these screen recordings to trim them.  This afternoon, Storyline 2 freezes completely when I try to use the "Edit Video" option on these screen recordings.  I think I have rebooted about 8 times now, because when it freezes, I can shut it down, even with the Task Manager.  I don't know of any changes that happened to my computer since this morning.  I can still make the screen recordings successfully.  I have been using Storyline 2 almost daily for months.  I have a Windows 8.1 PC with i7 CPU, 16 GB RAM, and 1 TB HD.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

Hi, Greg -- Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties, but there are a few things we an try initially to get started. Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update? Info on Update 5 can be found here

I am on this particular problem. It seems the Edit Video window is not instanced. So Storyline 2 didn't crash but the video editing window is invisible. Tried a complete reinstall, ran the cleanup utility. Enabled everything from .NET Framework (all the extra stuff too) and it didn't help. This is such a time waster, I have had it happen several times and never found a solid way to get it working.
