I have a SCORM Dispatch that was sent to a client that uses Halogen LMS. When using a Mac computer, the user is unable to to click the exit button on the player to close the course, but works on windows machines. This is problematic because Halogen requires the player to close in order to record results (progress, incomplete, pass, etc..). I have tested the courses in SCORM Cloud on a mac computer and everything works fine. I don't have access to the Halogen LMS, so I ultimately need to figure out if this is a problem with the in Storyline/SCORM or an issue with Halogen LMS. Thanks in advance for any responses.
I'm sorry this is causing such headaches! I can see how this issue would be really frustrating, and it's clear you've been putting a lot of time into troubleshooting it already.
Testing in SCORM Cloud was the perfect move! Since you didn't see the same behavior there, that's a great indication that it's most likely LMS related. Reaching out to Halogen LMS for more insight is the best next step here.
Keep us posted on how that goes! And perhaps other community members with Halogen experience will be able to pop in here with ideas, too.
I'm speaking with the client now to help troubleshoot. I'm trying to test as much as I can before I tell the client the problem is on their end. I have a team member from SCORM Cloud looking into this for me as well, so hopefully we can get this solved!
I believe the cause of the issue is the launch behavior settings in SCORM Cloud. By default, we use a frameset setting to launch the course in the same window. What I believe to be happening is the exit button is attempting to close a window that the player doesn't necessarily "own". I think if the course is launched in a new window, the player would be able to close out the window. As stated earlier, I myself have no way of testing this and am still waiting to hear a response from the client whether or not this issue has been resolved (hopefully radio silence means everything is working smoothly).
