File link errors

Trust you are all well. 

I've come across an issue with files that are linked in SL files. For example, if I put a button which accesses a document when the user clicks on it.

We're currently using Dropbox to store files so that they can be accessed by multiple remote workers. However, SL records the file link as c:\users\user.name\xyz. This works okay if the creating user publishes the file, but doesn't work if someone else publishes as the user.name changes to their name instead. SL doesn't produce any error messages to let you know it hasn't been able to find the linked file.

Has anyone else come across this?
