When you open up the 360 desktop app, if a new update is available you should see a little banner on the top alerting you. See my screenshot below for reference:
You're correct, this was a recently added feature. Once you update Storyline 360 through the desktop app, you should be able to access this feature through the Home tab in Slide View as described in that tutorial and seen in this screenshot:
