first audio won't play and screen record loops on HTML5

Apr 01, 2016

I have a slide that has a screen recording converted from Presenter on it. It also has 3 audio tracks which is longer than the screen recording in total.

After publishing I tested the story.html and story_html5 locally.

story.html worked fine.

HTML5 version had this two issues...

- audio 1 did not fire off. audio 2 and 3 did on their respective times.
- the screen recording looped back to the beginning near the end of the timeline. the flash version did not have this. it stopped at the end even if the audio track is still playing.

sooo.... any ideas on how to fix it?

btw... i have two more slides with multiple audio tracks and the first audio won't play but the others would. there's another slide with a screen recording and just one audio track and that one played ok.

So I guess it only happens on HTML5 version of slides with a screen recording (probably only with those converted from Presenter) and multiple audio tracks.

Hi Calvin!

If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. See this article for details.

In addition, here’s how Storyline determines which version of your content to display when learners view it. Be sure you are viewing in a supported environment as defined in this documentation.

Hi Calvin!

I did want to ask, what do you mean by screen recording converted from Presenter and slides with Presenter-converted screen recording?

Do you have a device with a newer version of iOS for testing?

If there is something that we need to take a look at, feel free to share. Otherwise, I'll wait to hear back on your subsequent testing.

Hi Leslie,

they both mean the same thing. i only have screen recording from Presenter. The Storyline projects I'm having touble with are those converted from Presenter.

I checked Articulate's HTML5 compatibility and saw the the magic iOS version to handle the best support is iOS 6 and above so I figured iOS 7 should be fine. Anyway, viewing it in iOS 9 iPad and it's still the same.

Wish I could show you what I'm working on but content is confidential.
