Free Text Free Form Question

Jan 10, 2018

How do you make a Free Text Free Form question to where individuals can type any response (ie. not one correct answer)?  Is there a way to generate a report on what response were typed in the Free Text field?

Hi there Stephanie!

Thanks for popping into the community with your question. Are you using an LMS (Learning Management System)? If yes, you should give Storyline's Survey Questions a try:

Results from survey questions ARE reported to the LMS, however they are not graded. You can use the "Short Answer" question type to allow text responses of up to 250 chars long, or "Essay" question type to allow text responses of up to 5000 characters. You can then view the results of these questions through a report that is generated in your LMS.

Hope this helps :)

Hi, Louisa.

You should be able to report survey answers as long as you have a results slide. While it is up to your LMS how they report the individual responses, here is the quiz data sent to your LMS by Storyline.

Here is a test using SCORM Cloud (which you can also use to test your own surveys. Check the steps here):

I hope this helps!
