Freeform Pick One Quiz not showing correct/incorrect layers

Jan 17, 2013

I've added a quiz to module and when you click on the any of the options it's not displaying the feedback layers.

Within the pick one templates it comes with it's own triggers and correct/incorrect layers so my assumption was that this would automatically display the layers when the assigned objects were clicked. However when i click the object, other than the object state changing, it's dead. Nothing happens, I tried manually adding a trigger to the slides but that didn't work either. Anyone any ideas?

Hi Howie,

Thanks for the file. However, this looks like the published output. I'd need to see the .story file to check out the settings

If it's too large, you can try recreating it in a new project. Or, if you'd like, you can submit it to us in a support case. Just share the case number with me, so I can take a look.

Thanks!

Hi Howie,

I'm not sure if this is because it's still in development, or if things were moved around, but it's difficult for me to read the questions and responses for the quiz on here. From what I've seen, the majority of the responses look good (from what I can see). When I submit an answer, I'm seeing the correct and incorrect feedback.

When you choose "by choice" it will pop up with your customized feedback after the user hits submit. When you choose "by question", it's a more generalized response that the user either got the question right or wrong.

So, say for example you have a question with 3 responses and you choose "by choice" and input different responses to each answer:

Hi. How are you feeling today?

1. I'm feeling great, thanks!

2. Pretty good, pretty good.

3. I've had better days.

Say that "1" is the correct answer. If the user chooses 1, they'll get your customized feedback after clicking on submit telling them the answer is correct. If they choose number 2, they would see a different response. If they choose number 3, they would see yet another customized response. These would be shown after the user clicks on submit. If they received the feedback just by clicking on the answers, this could cause some issues - for instance, if a user accidentally selects number 2, instead of 1, they may want to be able to change their response. If you're wanting to display the feedback when the user clicks and not after hitting submit (I did notice you set this up already for one question slide) you would need to do so with the triggers.

I know that was a bit winded, but hopefully this makes sense

I made an assumption that when I copied over into a new project it would copy over identically and obviously it didn't so apologies. \that was a bit of a mess so apologies.

The example I have does not have a submit button as it's not on the player. I suspect this may be the reason. Is this something i can add to the screen?

Hmm, I was able to use the submit button on your quiz, without making any changes, strange. Are you working with a custom player template? You could create a custom submit button, if the concern is that you want it to fit in with your design.

It was a scene from a bigger project which has a custom player with no submit button. Is it possible to submit just by clicking the answer?

Possibly, Howie, but then you'd run into the same issue I mentioned before where the user might click on the wrong answer accidentally, or change their mind. It might be safer with a custom button.

However, if you want to use the answer, it would get a little more complicated. I suppose you could try it with a hot spot and triggers. Think that would work for you?

I'll give it a go. Thanks for your help Christine. It's greatly appreciated
