From static slides to screen capture export fail

Jan 21, 2016

Hey all, I am new to the program (used others, new to this) and am running into an issue. I have a training deck that was imported from my client that I am using. This deck then transitions to live screen shots that I am capturing. In the preview pane, all goes well. But when you export the screen capture video is GONE. The file ends on the static slides. I have the conditions set to go to the video slide when the timeline ends, and as I stated in the preview it runs flawlessly. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi Matthew

on the video slides are there other objects on the timeline that could be overlaying the video?  There is an eye icon that shows/hides timeline objects, make sure that isn't unchecked.

Are you publishing for web or LMS and have you tested on a webserver or via Scormcloud?

Sometimes viewing locally the browser doesn't display everything.

Happy to take a look if you want to upload the story file.

Hi, Matthew -- I would agree with Wendy, and you may want to check out the options listed in this article for Publishing and Sharing SL2 Content and testing in the environment where your course will ultimately be accessed (best for verifying functionality).

If you are publishing for LMS, and have done testing in the SCORM Cloud, you may also find this article on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud to be of some assistance.

And yes, we are more than happy to test your file if you can share it! Please use the ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box and you can browse/upload from there! :)
