Gif purple outline and some do not display
Jan 17, 2017
Hi
When I publish my storyline file (web, include html5 output) the gif displays either like this:
or does not display at all when published, or it displays fine. I have created various gifs with ezgif.com. How come do some gifs display whereas others do not? I have attached one gif that works and another that does not display.
I have read on the forum that if published as flash the purple hue will disappear, but my problem is that flash does not work on mobile devices.
Thanks
Update:
So I was opening it directly from its file(in Chrome). I see the problem is gone now once I open it in it's attended environment. (I uploaded it onto tempshare) and it displays fine now.

Is there an update on this? I recently stumbled across the dreaded purple outline. Subscribing for updates :)
Hi Ian,
You're certainly in the right place to get notified of any updates when we have some to share, but I do not have any to share right now.
I do appreciate you bringing this up and letting us know that you're affected as well though.
Here is some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.
Hi Ian,
Update today! Our team resolved one of the issues with animated GIFs, where they had purple outlines in published output, in today's Update 26 of Storyline 360. Follow the steps here to update your Storyline 360 app.
Yes, I cropped mine and the purple outline is gone. It must reset the gif or something. Not complaining, just really weird.
Hi Sally and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in your project.
Do you know what version of Storyline you're using?
You can check by going to:

We are currently on Build 3.29.19305.0 of Storyline 360. You can read all of the details here.
As you can see in Ashley's reply directly above yours, we released a fix for this in Update 26. If you're still seeing it, we would certainly want to take a look.
