Something weird happened...so I wonder if anyone has had a similar situation before.
In Storyline, when I create a new layer on a slide, shapes that do not exist end up showing up on the layer (black rectangle, dark background...). I've checked that there is no objects on the layer, no master slide is used, and nothing exists.
It sounds like odd behavior for sure - I'd begin by conducting a repair of Storyline and ensuring your working with local project files. Also, is this only happening in one Storyline file, or across the board? If it's just one try importing it into a new project - and if it's all of them the repair should help.

Ashley,
Thanks for the help. I'll definitely try out the tips.
