Having issues with publishing Korean content from Storyline2/Windows 10 combination.
Aug 11, 2016
Hi,
My team is trying to publish content localized in the Korean language, but are unable to do so as the publish option is throwing an error every time.
Initially we suspected the Storyline version update to be causing this issue as we had published Korean content in the past without any issues, but later identified that the issue is not with the software upgrade, but it is indeed Windows 10 migration which is causing the issue.
We were able to publish the Korean content when we used a system with Windows 7 OS.
We were able to replicate this issue in all of our Windows 10 systems. We were able to publish other language versions ok (including Mandarin, Japanese), this issue is only with the Korean language.
Has anyone else faced this issue? If yes, do you have a fix/workaround to resolve this issue?
Thank you for your time in reading through this message, any information that can get us moving forward will be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Sundeep

I'm attaching a screenshot of the error message here.
I'm trying to publish it as a SCORM 1.2 package.
Hi, Sundeep -- Thanks so much for reaching out here, and I'm sorry for your troubles! I see that this is an issue that has been reported previously and is currently in the hands of our QA team for additional investigation. Unfortunately, I do not have a timeframe to provide in which this may be addressed, but your post will be added to the ticket so that any additional updates are shared here as they are received.
I did want to ask, Sundeep, if you have tried the following to see if you find improvement?
1) Go to the Control Panel.
2) Go to Language.
3) Click Add a language.
4) Search Korean and click Add.
5) Restart the computer.
6) Publish the course again.
Hi Christie,
Thank you for your prompt response. I did try adding Korean language to the Windows 10 OS and it resolved the issue. Thank you for pointing this out to me.
Please keep me posted when a permanent fix is available,
Appreciate the always-responsive support team at Articulate, kudos to you all!
Thanks and Regards,
Sundeep
So glad to hear that helped, Sundeep, and we'll be sure to pass along any additional information we are provided!
I tried the language pack, but it did not solve the problem. I found a workaround, though, and it doesn't require buying expensive font additions. The first fix is to change the translation document font to Malgun Gothic. Then when it is loaded into Storyline, change Player/Colors & Effects/Player fonts: to Malgun Gothic. This enabled publishing without the language error.
Hi Joni and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Thanks for popping in to share the solution that worked for you with the community here. I will share this information with our QA Team in case helpful as well.
We have spent a month wrestling with Korean translations, and it has been
such a problem. This is the first time we have been able to publish using
Korean text in the player. We tried all the other suggestions and were not
successful. So share for those who have the same issue!

Absolutely. Thanks again Joni :)
Thanks everyone for advice. I added Korean as a language and changed my font to Malgom Gothic. All is well.
Appreciate y'all saving my bacon today.
