HELP! Published Files don't play at all!

Sep 18, 2016

Hi there,

I've been publishing these same files for months as we have gone through many iterations. Now, as I'm at the deadline for completion (of course), published files do not play at all. It's just the swirly "thinking" circle in the middle of the screen.

I've re-installed Storyline 2 but still no luck.

Preview works fine. I'm publishing to LMS, SCORM 2004. Has always worked before.

If anyone can help me with his ASAP that would be great - the deadline for completion is tomorrow. I'm literally at the final tiny tweak stage and publishing them for the client.

Thank you - I just uploaded one of the courses to Scormcloud and it IS working there... but why would it no longer work on the other site now? It is what I've used for 10 months for these same courses, and it is how my clients and I share feedback and responses. I'm thankful that it works, but this makes we worried about passing the files over to them to upload just in case there's another issue. Is there anything I need to check / change on my computer? I recall for a while I was removing a recent update to Windows in order to make files publish properly. Is it possible that a recent update has caused this, and will there be a fix for it?

Updates (either to Windows or Storyline) could cause issues. I just had a quick look at the Reviewmyelearning support section, there are no posts about recent issues with Storyline-published content. Now that you know that the course works (at least on scormcloud) I would try publishing it to Web and see if that works when uploaded to Reviewmyelearning.

Unfortunately ReviewMyeLearning only works for LMS published content. And I don't have a paid account on Scormcloud, but have more than 100MB in these courses. If there's anyone that does have another solution for this issue, that would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather not pay for another account (scormcloud) just because of a glitch in this software.

Pam, in reference to the course not working when trying to view it locally using the View Project options, there has been an update to the Flash Player in Google Chrome that might be causing some issues if you use that browser to launch your course from the local folder after publishing.  Just wanted to throw that out there.

You mentioned that one of the courses works in SCORM Cloud but not your ReviewMyElearning; typically, we would recommend opening a support from your LMS or hosting solution since it is working on other platforms.  Again, without the ability to test all of your courses on SCORM Cloud, it's hard to say that this behavior would be consistent if you could.

Can we give you hand with testing these courses out?  I know your deadline is tight, but if you haven't already, please feel free to submit a case to our engineers, and they can go through our troubleshooting steps to see if we can nail down what's going on.  Also, here is some troubleshooting information when working with LMSs.
