I am using a freeform hotspot for an interaction. I want the object that the user is double-clicking to disappear after they click it and the feedback is shown. However if I put the object that they need to click on another layer so that I can hide it with a trigger, it seems to get placed over the hotspot so I can't activate it.
BTW, I'm using double-click on the hotspot because I also have navigation buttons on the screen that are not covered by hotspots - I am not using the player buttons.
If I understand correctly, putting the object on the layer is where you're having difficulties.
Try just adding a simple trigger to the hotspot to change its state to Hidden when double-clicked. The Hot Spot disappears and your layer is now shown.

Dane,
You should be able to achieve the same result using object states.
Action: Change state of
On Object: (your image)
To state: Hidden
When: user double clicks
Object: (your image)

Thanks, I had missed the ability to select an object under the "Change state" trigger. Works great.
