Hover State Not Showing

Dec 05, 2018

Ok, got another one today. One of our artists created some hot images that have both a hover state and visited state. The hover state shows when rolled over but after the object is selected (visited) the hover state no longer works.

If we use a shape and fill it with the picture, that option works. It jiggles, but works. There is no code attached to either of these objects.

Shouldn't the hover state show while using the image only? I thought the state applied to an object should show regardless of what type of object you use. I'm pretty sure we've set up hot images like this in previous courses.

Hopefully I'm not missing something simple. Its been a long day.

Hi Bob,

I do see we have a similar report that has been shared with our team, but it's been difficult to track down and this is a good example.

I'd use the fill shape in the meantime if you'd like the hover to show, but I'm adding this conversation and example to our report as we continue to dig in.

We will update you right here when we have additional information to share.

Hi there, Bob! We fixed the issue you reported where the "Hover" state would not work correctly when an object was in the "Selected" state.

Install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes.

If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I’ll be happy to help!

Hello Manpreet!

I'm happy to help. I have tried to recreate this on my end, and I do not see the same behavior you've mentioned. The "Hover" state is appearing after the state of the button is visited. Here's my test.

I'm using Storyline 360 (Build 3.54.25674.0). Which version of Storyline are you using?

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for looking into it. I added my states for your reference in attachments. Each state has more than one components: image, outer border, and gradient, tick etc. I normally add these separately within the states itself, but they are all different components. Maybe that is causing the issue. But strange part is at few buttons it works fine but other it don't.

What I have done now is, I created all components of a single state as a one image and then have one image per state. Now its working fine.

Regards,
