This looks like particularly odd behavior and the mentioned that recreating the button resolves the behavior leads me to wanting to check that first you're working with all local project files as described here. If you're still experiencing difficulties after confirming you're on a local drive (or if you have moved it from a network drive to your local drive) please try importing it into a new project.
Please let us know how it's behaving after checking into the above elements.
In this second image it looks like she's being stretched and cut off - have you checked that your DPI setting is 96 DPI as recommended here?If it was 96 or you've set it to that and you're still seeing it could you share this course with us (or at least this one problematic slide or a mock up of it)? You'll want to use the paperclip icon to attach it to this thread.
Thanks for sharing the file - I can see the behavior in your file, although I can't recreate it on a new file. I also tried the import and saw the same behavior persist. Could you share with me the steps you took to set up this character in case there is something different with how you've set up this hover state?
The only thing I did, as far as I can remember, is that I switched character pose from desk to standing, so this might explain why there's a "wider" value hidden somewhere.
Thanks - I still can't recreate the behavior on a new file or even changing the character in your current file. It seems I'm able to change how she appears in the hover state and then it behaves normally but when trying to duplicate the original character I see the same problem no matter what I do to her pose or expression or color. If you're able to recreate the behavior on a new file when you insert a new character image, please let me know the exact steps you took that presented this behavior.
Did you ever try to conduct the repair of Storyline? I don't see that I recommended it before but since you've had some consistent issues with odd character behavior I think this would be a good step.
Is this the same project we were working on before or a new project? Just in case, keep backing up your files as you make changes to them so that you have something to go back to - and it doesn't hurt to import it into a new project to try and resolve any issues. If you'd like to share this one with me again (or even just those slides) I'm happy to take a look and see if I can recreate the behavior on a new file after studying your current file.
This is still the same project. Importing does not solve the problem.
Here's a stripped down project with the no-bounding-box character and hover state going crazy as an extra feature (different size and overlapping states - blue tint is intended !).
I fear everything went wrong when I duplicated character and swapped poses (like the stretching problem above maybe)
I can see it in your original again, but can't recreate it by adding a new character and changing their color/position/expression/etc. within your existing file or to a new file. If you're able to replicate this and document the exact steps you take to insert the character and then see this behavior I'm happy to try again.

Hi Ashley,
I do work locally (I always do, never trust network for large files).
I tried importing slides in new project and still the same behaviour.

Hi Ashley,
DPIs are OK so here's the file !

Hello there !
Don't know if I need to create a new subject but here's another weird behavior : some of my objects have no more bounding boxes.
I can select and move them but I won't see the hover frame when publishing.
I checked to see if there wasn't something pasted around that would make the bounding box huge but this not the case.
Any clue on what's happening ?
Hi Pierre,

Hi Ashley,
I did the reinstall but the odd behavior is still the same. Don't tell me my project is corrupted, it's so close to the end...
Anyway I could live with it because I already deleted and done those "buttons" again.
