As LearnDash directly do not support SCORM packages, why don't you choose xAPI package rather than SCORM as it is latest and updated version of SCORM.
LearnDash directly support xAPI packages and give better results. If you want to upload large zip file of xAPI based content, you can use GrassBlade xAPI Companion WordPress plugin to get better results.

Regards,
xAPI obviously is a more complex solution requiring an LRS. SCORM is a single file upload and while it's possible to buy plugins that allow reporting, it would still be helpful to get an answer on the original question:
"My LearnDash plugin is installed correctly on my wordpress site, and they're saying that I can upload a SCORM file..."
Sarah, I can see that LearnDash recommend UncannyOwl for reporting and I can't see any other information about being able to upload a zip file without reporting. Either way, if it's a SCORM file, regardless of whether it reports data, I think you need the 'Tincanny LearnDash Reporting' Plugin for USD$179 per year. I've only just purchased it and can see that an upload button becomes available. I have yet to test it out fully. Unfortunately, there is no trial version.
This is an old post, but it might be helpful for other who bump on it.
GrassBlade xAPI Companion now supports SCORM. So, that can be used for playing SCORM content. You would also need GrassBlade Cloud LRS for data, score and completion tracking.
