How to force workaround with "restore on mouse leave"

Jan 13, 2015

Hi,

I am trying to set up an interaction where the "key" at the bottom automatically ties to the interactive graphics on the screen. Before the object is clicked on, I need hovering for both when one is hovered (I used custom hover states to avoid problems i had with the built in ones in this case). I have the key as disabled after being viewed (solved some of my hover issues) and the graphic as visited1.

I have everything working except after the item is clicked and turns visited/disabled, you can still hover over the stack of papers and the icon changes back to Normal (not Disabled). I realize this is because for the hover that ties one graphic to the other, I have checked "restore on mouse leave" - but I need that or the hover stays. I also built in the conditions that it won't hover if in visited1/disabled, but it doesn't seem to be reading that.

Is there a work-around that will keep my key icon disabled (while still allowing the hover to work before the item is clicked)?

My triggers and conditions make it seem like this would work, maybe it's the order? I've tried reordering - please help!

If I change the visited1 state for the stack of papers to disabled, it does everything I need it to - but then they can't click back on it to return to the content if need-be.

Here is my project, simplified to just the parts I need help with.

Thanks!!

Yes but no but YES! I purposely had it as visited1 instead of disabled so they could click back and look at the content unlimited times. But grouping them solved the problem of hovering over the visited graphic and turning the other one back to the normal state!

I didn't realize you can group items and still have separate states for them - thanks SO much for the quick reply!

Here's the version acting as I had hoped.

Thanks again!!
