I'm wondering how to correctly reference articulate storyline 360 in a paper I am writing for publication in a science journal. I'm assuming the version should be included, but do I need to also include the state/country of it's origin? (new york, new york?)

For APA Style, you shouldn't need to to reference the state/country.
I would probably do:
Articulate Storyline 360 [Computer software]. (2018). Retrieved from https://articulate.com/360
