Hyperlinks not working on other computers
Sep 05, 2012
Hi,
I have a problem again :(
I have a slide full of hyperlinks and e-mail addresses. When I publish it and check on my computer, everything works.
But any time I copy the files to another computer or server, they don't work anymore.
The text is highlighted, the cursor changes to a hand but no new browser windows open.
I also tried to set 'Display in current browser window' but again nothing.
The flash player is the latest everywhere so it cannot be the cause.
Could you please help me or give me some advice?
Thanks in advance

If you are running locally it is better to test using the publish to CD version.
I tried that one as well and also the publish for web. Still not good.
A colleague downloaded the trial version of Articulate, and has the same problem.
We think it may be a relative path issue, but we still don't have any idea how to solve it.
Should we set something?
Are you running using the .exe file from the CD?
What are you hyperlinking to, you say relative links are you linking to files in the published folder?
If you are linking to web addresses they should work, if it is documents if they are office doc there is a known issue with security and IE, PDFs generally work better in this situation.
On the email addresses do the source computers have an email client installed? They will not work without this.
No, we tried the .html. I tried the .exe one as you had suggested. What is interesting that it works with the .exe, but not with the .html.
We are linking to web addresses. I even tried www.google.com (I thought it couldn't be more simple than that).
We have Microsoft Outlook on all of the computers.
Edit: Sorry, one thing missing: the training will be in LMS (SCORM 1.2)
If it works with th .exe file it is a security issue. Flash is designed not to work across domain, e.g. from local to internet. The .exe circumvents this. when you upload to your LMS it should work
Thanks for the explanation! I'll send the file to the LMS responsible for testing, hope it'll work
