Image Snapping back into position

Aug 04, 2015

Hi Everyone,

I am currently trying to produce an exercise which involves individuals being able to build a puzzle. Several of the peices can go on on more than on correct answer and I have found the posts that allow me to do this. Whilst building the slide and adding the triggers to the images I have hit a problem.

I have got on peice working but the rest seem to snap back into their original position rather than staying where they are placed. I have set the triggers exactly the same on both images and I can work out why one works and the other one isnt. I am fairly new to articulate so an help would be apprecited.

Thank you

Hi Ashley,

I found I couldnt work out how to get multiple correct answers on the drap and drop function. I have now worked out how to get it going (thanks to some posts on this forum), but have since come up against another issue.

The only way I could get multiple correct targets was to add individual triggers to the appropriate items to allow for multiple correct targets (on this example there are two "medium energy" puzzle peices so either one can be placed in the correct position). I have set this trigger up using the "drag over" option. However, inorder to submit answers and result in "incorrect" layer being showen this doesnt quite work. Even if the person doing the task drags over the correct position but places the item in the wrong position and then submits, because they have dragged over the correct position the trigger makes it correct and when submitted the "correct" layer comes up.

A possible way of getting round this is to set the triggers to "dropped on". However, when this is set the items snap automatically into the middle of the image set to be correct when dropped on (which doesnt work for building a puzzle). How can I change the snap function so that the image stays where it is put yet still utlise the "drop on function" to solve the above problem?

I have attached the file I have been playing around with today. Everything is still set up for "drag over".

Thanks

Hi Kathryn,

I know that there are a bunch of custom set ups for multiple correct answers in a drag and drop, as our built in set up only allows for one answer per drag item. I know it's been something other users have also indicated as a feature request.

There isn't a way to change the "snap" behavior associated with the "dropped on" trigger. I could see how the "drag over" element could be causing issues with it being marked correct inadvertently as well - so I think you'll want to continue using the "dropped on" trigger and adjust sizing of the items and targets based on knowing it'll center them.
