Import Camtasia Screencasts to SL 360

Jan 20, 2021

Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to import existing screencasts that were made in Camtasia into SL360? I don't want the videos, I want to import it like the SL Screencast tool does but I don't want to have to re-record all the content. I haven't seen a way to do it but am hoping there is one! Thanks.

Hello, Paul,

Adding your Camtasia file as an embedded Web Object might be an option for you. If you haven't already, I recommend checking the tutorial about Adding Web Objects and using this old discussion thread as an additional reference.

Note: Make sure to check the 2nd to the last reply on the discussion which says something like this:

"The index file is doesn't seem to be necessary. For those that need to add interactive Camtasia videos, point Storyline via Web Object to the folder that contains the published video along with the "videoname_player.html" file. Seems to work great once the course is published and uploaded to the LMS.

Make sure there are no other .html files in the same folder."

I hope this helps. Best of luck! :)
