I've imported a .swf into a new Storyline 2 file. I added a placeholder image and the file/video plays automatically in the preview but not after publishing the Storyline file.
I've tried the different Options of "automatically" and "own player bar" but nothing seems to display when publishing for Web with our usual settings (all boxes checked)
I'm not sure how you are adding the video file or viewing the contents, but I can certainly try to help you out here :)
How are you adding in the Flash file? With the Video from File option or with the Insert > Flash option? You can read more about that here if needed.
How are you viewing the published contents? The swf file would not be supported when viewing the HTML5 or Articulate Mobile Player output as you can see here.

I did Insert > Flash > Select > Open
I tried Insert > Video > From File > Select > Open
But alas, as you noted for me here - I must use Flash. HTML5 is a no-go!
