I'm wondering if there is a way to design an interaction that allows the learner to draw the proper response. They need to draw a series of lines representing a variety of measurements. Is there a way to turn this into a quiz interaction? It could be done with drag and drop, but I would prefer the interaction to have more of a "free form" feel to it.

Have you tried using sliders? You can use any sort of graphic for the thumb, and with a little creativity might get what you want.
