Is tempshare down?

Sep 03, 2013

Hi All,

I've tried to upload a SL course to articulate tempshare for testing, however the progress seems to be stuck on 0% publishing .

Just wondering if anyone is having an issue.

Thanks

Hi Harri!

Currently, the maximum size for file uploads to Tempshare is 10 MB. We agree that it's a very low threshold, and we're working to increase it. If your published output exceeds 10 MB, you may want to try any of the following free alternatives for testing your Articulate content online:
*  Amazon S3 (http://aws.amazon.com/s3/): Amazon S3 offers free hosting with generous usage limits. If you go over your limit, you'll be charged a graduated fee.
*  Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/): Place your published output in the Public folder in your Dropbox account to share it with others.
*  Google Drive (https://drive.google.com/): Just change the launch file to index.html, and set the sharing permissions to Public. Here's how: http://community.articulate.com/blogs/taylor/archive/2013/08/26/how-to-share-your-e-learning-course-for-free-with-google-drive.aspx

Hi Leslie,

I am using the mobile player and can launch the course in a webpage but I can't seem to get it  into the library to give me the option to download. Could you please talk me through how you get the file in dropbox to download to ipad via articulate mobile app, I was under the impression the course would need to be web hosted first rather than just stored on server space.

Thank you

Hi Harri! Yes, you would publish to web and mark these settings:

Your learner WILL need internet access in order to access the course for the first time and can choose to download for offline viewing, which will then place the course into their library.

You will not have to 'choose' to download file file to the app if it is already installed on their iPad. Read here to understand how your content gets displayed.

Hi Leslie,

Sorry if I'm being dim here but I still can't seem  to get the content into the ipad library.

I have published with all the settings you mentioned.

I have put the published content on Dropbox

I can launch the .html and .html5 files in a webpage

But where I'd normally expect the articulate app to auto take over and add to library...it doesn't - any ides what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Harri! Are you trying to 'manually' get it to work? Perhaps that is the issue.

If you are publishing with the correct settings, when the link is shared and opened, the Articulate Mobile Player should automatically open the content (on an iPad with AMP installed).

For instance, if you open an e-mail and click on the link, if your iPad has the AMP installed on it, then it will automatically open the project. You do not need to manually add it in like copy/paste in a browser window.

Does this help you? Or am I missing something entirely?
