Is there a way to switch off 100% autoscaling in the Modern Player?

Feb 13, 2023

I've been trying to hang on with the Classic Player for as long as possible, because the Modern Player doesn't seem to allow you to switch of auto-scaling to 100% height of the browser window.

The problem with this is that you can't easily design a course that will look good on a very large monitor as well as a small laptop screen.

(I really don't want to have to make a course 'responsive' just to achieve this and create multiple designs for each slide).

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch off auto-scaling in the Modern Player? Our LMS has just started having issues with the Classic Player so it looks like I'm painted into a corner with this. Any tips appreciated.

it is possible to deactivate the scaling of the slides with modern player

result - no menu/buttons from the interface used

result - menu available

BUT: there are some problems

  • if you use player settings "Menu  & Controls Off", there is an internal script error of the player and the course don't start
(workaround: set "Menu  & Controls On" and deactivate all features individually)
  • the bottom scroller disappears, if the window is high enough but not wide enough

nice would be a special extra mode:

  • if the browser window is to small, scaling is active
  • if the browser window is big enough, scaling is deactivated
