Issue with Articulate Mobile Player on iPad

Aug 01, 2014

Is anyone else having issues using the Articulate Mobile player on the iPad, after installing the latest Storyline update I am having serious issues playing my course through the mobile player (it is playing fine on my PC). The slide layers, and triggers are not functioning properly which is a problem since I am supposed to roll a course out to our sales force via the player on Monday. Any suggestions on what could be causing this would be very much appreciated.

Hi Ellen,

I haven't heard of a specific issue that would be impacting courses published with Update 6 of Storyline and used in the Articulate Mobile player. Do you have a course sample that we could take a look at? If you'd like to post the .story file here using the paper clip icon I'm happy to test it out.

Please also let us know what iPad version and iOS you have installed and what version of the Mobile player you're using.

Hi Ashley,

I am using iOS 7.1.2 and the articulate app version 2.23. I have tested it on both an iPad 2 and 3 with the same results. The odd thing is that the project acts fine when previewed in Articulate or viewed on my PC, it is only when viewed in the Articulate app that the issues occur. Which is very frustrating because I cannot see anything in the source file that I can adjust to fix the issue. I have uploaded a section of the project here. I have also included a link below to a published version of this section so you can see the difference in it's behavior on a PC vs. the articulate player on the iPad. As I stated in my original post I have been publishing and testing this for months with no issues until I downloaded the 6 update last week. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is a very time sensitive training that was supposed to role out to our entire sales force today via the App.

Hi Ellen,

Thanks for sharing your project file here. I wasn't able to access the link you shared, but I was able to publish the course myself and upload it to my web server. The first version of your course is posted here, and when testing that on my iPad the triggers work - but it seems that all the text of the layers for correct/incorrect are then overlapping the base layer while viewed in the mobile player. I assume this is the behavior you're referring to? I tested recreating this on my own file, (a simple version here) setting it up exactly as you did with triggers to the layers based on the state changes and I can't recreate the behavior. Can you tell us a bit more about how you set up this original project?

Also, I'm on an iPad mini with iOS7 and the same version of the mobile player.
