Issue with audio glitches in Storyline 2

Jun 23, 2017

Hi!

I'm facing a rather strange issue where there is a video playing, but there's some random audio from elsewhere also playing - it's a glitch and I can't figure out why or where that audio is coming from. This is happening only when I publish - not in preview mode.

I am sharing the .story file here for reference. I hope you are able to see this and let me know why this is happening! I am also sharing screenshots of the specific screens where the glitch happens - it's in 3 instances to be precise.

Thank you!

Hi Ali!

Thanks so much for your quick response!

I just played the course on the link you shared - I can hear the audio glitches in the same spots. If you notice, the only audio one should hear is the voiceover for the text that is on screen.

In those 3 screens (as per the screenshots), I can hear other words being played from audio files placed in other slides of the project. Could you please replay those specifically to check?

May I know which browser (and version) you're using to play this?

Hi Ali, I updated the file and published on Tempshare like you did. The link is here. We are not seeing any issues or glitches in this.

The new issue is though, that I can open and view this in Firefox and Internet Explorer, but not Chrome. However, I am able to view the link you shared earlier on my Chrome as well.

Do you have any idea why I am able to view your link and not mine on Chrome? Is it the way I am saving or publishing the file?

Also sharing the updated story file for your reference.

Hey Manya,

Thanks for those updates and for your updated file! No apologies necessary, I'm happy to help with your questions.

As Leslie mentioned, you won't have any restrictions in the trial.

I took a look at the link you shared, and I'm seeing what you're describing when viewing it in Chrome. However, when I published your updated course and uploaded it to Tempshare again- I'm able to see it in Chrome.

Take a look at it here and let me know what you see.

I have a few more questions for you here:

  1. When you're working on your files, are you saving them locally on your computer (your C:Drive or desktop) or are you saving them to a network/shared drive?
  2. Are you making any edits to the published output before zipping it to upload?
  3. Are you using this built-in Zip option in the Published Successful screen to zip your file?:

Keep me posted!
