Hi I Use Storyline 1 and links from the LMS on a module work fine on devices that use flash but those that use html 5 do not. How can this be fixed and prevented in the future if at all?
Hey Nicky - the viewing requirements in the documentation that Wendy shared above should have you covered. Do you experience the same issue if you test the content in SCORM Cloud or is the issue limited to your LMS? If you are able to replicate, please share the .story file that you'd like us to take a look at.
Hi Everybody, I'm Hyim. I work with Nicky. A few things. First of all all of the devices we are having issues with are supported by storyline 1. They include new model iPads and desktop macs running the latest version of Safari (but without flash). All of the behaviors work as expected in the published flash version. When viewing the html5 version from the local desktop most of the behaviors work as expected but one of the start button does not work as expected. When uploaded to the LMS (Canvas) or SCORMcloud the 4th button is only clickable from a in small spot to left of button. The 5th, and 6th buttons are not clickable at all.
I have attached a screencast showing the different behaviors as well as the original storyline photo. Any advice you can give would be appreciated.
Hello Hyim! Thanks for including the video of what you're seeing on your end. However, it doesn't look like the .story file you attached here matches the file from the video. Here's a link to the published file uploaded to SCORM Cloud, if you'd like to test it.
You'll want to ensure that you upload your file to the intended environment (LMS or SCORM Cloud) as opposed to viewing the content locally. If you view published content on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
You'll also want to be sure you're using a supported browser to test your file:
Flash:
Windows: Internet Explorer 6 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Google Chrome (latest version), Opera 9.5 and later
Mac: Safari 3 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Google Chrome (latest version)
Linux: Firefox 1.x and later
HTML5:
Google Chrome (latest version) on Windows or Mac
Safari 5.1 or later on Mac
Mobile Safari in Apple iOS 5 or later on iPad/iPhone
Thanks for your help, sorry for the oversight. I corrected the previous post with the correct attachment. We defiantly test our files deployed in the LMS, but I was testing it in response to Leslie's post and decided to test from the local machine as well. I shared it because as I said the html5 interactions work as expected there (using the same browser) and I thought that might be helpful in diagnosing the problem.
No worries! I tested the new file in SCORM Cloud using Safari with Adobe Flash Player turned off to view the content with HTML5, and I saw the same behavior you saw. Here's a Peek recording of what I saw on my end.
I'd like our Support Engineers to weigh in on this, so I'm going to share your file with them, as well as the recording of the behavior (case 01019458 for my reference). Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from Support@Articulate.com - one of our Engineers will reach out to you shortly!

Hi Nicky
here are the technical specifications for SL1 - check out the section on viewing and you'll see which browsers support HTML5 viewing
Is there anything here that we need to change in settings etc? Anything i inform the boss about which devices etc won't support our materials?
