Hi All. I have added 'Jump To Slide' triggers inside a scene (like I always do) yet the triggers are not working and are instead jumping to the slide in sequential order (2.1 jumps to 2.2 even though I have added a trigger stating that a button on slide 2.1 should jump to slide 2.5).
If someone could please shed some light would be appreciated! P.S this always works so no idea whats going on....
Correct Wendy. Unable to share file however if I move the "submit interaction when the user clicks submit" trigger down to the bottom it works. Problem in doing this means the learner will be able to continue without submitting a response.
are you using quiz type slides or have you customised slide as quiz questions? If using built in quiz slides - SL should display an invalid answer popup if the user doesn't select an answer which stops them from progressing. Sorry it's hard to say without seeing the setup...Perhaps you should log a support ticket with Articulate and upload the file privately to them.
Im using a freeform text entry question. It does display an invalid answer as is, however if i move the 'submit interation when the user clicks submit' trigger, this message does not display (because the actions are triggered in sequence it now jumps to correct slide but does not process the text field trigger).
Hi, the only thing I can think of is that if you have layers for your questions there are triggers on those layers that state move to next slide. I would check any layers that have been created for your questions and confirm that any triggers on them are going to the slide you want to go to next.
Hi Noel. I have only the one layer on each slide. The triggers are so basic it doesnt make any sense. Ive done this hundreds of times and have never had this issue. Will keep investigating.
That's odd! If there are no other feedback layers or master slide triggers affecting the slide, the 'Jump To Slide' trigger should jump to the appropriate slide.
As Wendy stated, we'd happily accept a .story project shared here privately to get a clear picture so we can troubleshoot the issue. As always, we will delete after using.
Otherwise, you can share some dummy slides with the issue on this page so the community can get to the bottom of it and get you moving again!
I'm pretty sure the issue is occurring because rather than create new slides I have duplicated them, therefor putting the slides out of sequential order. Even though I have triggers which should jump to the appropriate stated slide the default slide numbering seems to override the triggers.
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

Hi Stephanie
can you share the .story file so we can take a look - could be trigger order, could be a trigger on a master layout that is affecting it.
So you want 2.1 to go to 2.5, 2.2 to 2.6 is that correct - question / answer order?

I should add i have never had an issue with this in the past so was wondering if anyone had experienced similar issues of late.
All I can think is there may be a trigger on the master slide layout that the quiz slide is using that has a trigger and they may be conflicting.
Can you do a couple of dummy slides with the same triggers and post that
Zero triggers on master slides. Will look further into it, if not will upload dummy slides. Thanks Wendy.

Thanks for the additional details, Stephanie.
