Lag in Slide Advancement in Slide Draw from Question Bank

Jun 27, 2016

Hi!

I am working on a course that has a "draw from question bank" slide that pulls 20 questions from a question bank for a final review. The issue I'm having is when the course is running and a learner gets to that point, there is a lag between when the learner clicks the Continue button on the correct or incorrect layer before it actually advances to the next question. The questions are pulled in order, and not at random, so I'm not sure what is causing the lag. It's a good six seconds (I timed it) from when I click the Continue button and the next slide appears. I've never had this happen before, so I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Has anyone experienced this before, or have any ideas about what I can do to shorten that lag?

Thanks!

I figured out what was causing the lag. I had a scrolling text box on the slide master that learners could utilize to answer the questions in the bank:  The textbox contained 50,293 characters, and I think the lag was from the page loading up the text box. Oddly enough, I replaced it with seven fairly large jpgs of the document, and there is no lag. I would have thought the opposite would have been true, but there we have it! I told my colleagues that I'm always learning something new! :)

Thanks Wendy and Christie for being willing to help!
